Quality standards

CCL-Forensics (part of the of CCL Group) has gained the highest accreditation in the industry: ISO17025. This standard is underpinned by ISO27001 and ISO9001 and our Investors In People accreditation.

For more information about these standards, and what they mean, please read on.

ISO17025

ISO17025 is the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. It demonstrates adherence to the highest level of certification required of the digital forensics industry, and is audited by UKAS.  CCL-Forensics (part of CCL Group) is the only company of its kind to hold this accreditation for PC, mobile phone and SatNav laboratories.

The Forensic Science Regulator prefers that all forensics providers working within the criminal justice system, have this standard. This includes all police forces and experts working for the defence.
Corporate clients should ensure that any outsourced digital investigator also has this standard, as it gives confidence and assurance in the capability to undertake sound digital forensic examinations.

Benefits to you

  • Everything is done within an externally audited framework – high quality, standardised and repeatable processes ensure that all activities are efficient whilst maintaining a thorough approach.

  • UKAS requires providers with the ISO17025 accreditation to write a series of operating procedures specifically for each client.

  • This isn’t a one-off accreditation. Regular audits and ad-hoc spot-checks by UKAS ensure that the standards are maintained at all times

  • Evidential integrity. The robust and externally audited nature of our processes and procedures ensures that the chain of custody is maintained, reducing the risk of the integrity of your evidence being challenged in court

  • Trained and competent staff. CCL’s analysts undergo regular training which ensures we keep up to speed with advances in technology and forensic science. Training plans are externally audited and verified
